Kashmir Governor Constitutes Hindu Shrine Board

The pro-Indian Governor of Kashmir, N N Vohra on Wednesday constituted the 13-member advisory committee of the controversial Hindu shrine board.
The controversial Hindu shrine board, Amarnath Shrine Board led to land row in Kashmir last year during which more than 50 people were killed in police firing.
The Governor in his capacity as chairman of the controversial constituted the advisory committee.
S L Bhat will be the Chairman of the Committee, while B B Vyas shall be its Member-Secretary.
The Committee will advise the Hindu shrine Board on logistical and other arrangements required for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage 2009.
The Committee will also assist the Environmental Sub-Committee of the Board, chaired by Dr. Sunita Narain, in the formulation and implementation of the "Environment Protection Plan" for the Yatra 2009.
The Committee will meet at least twice during the year, before the commencement and after the completion of the pilgrimage.
