Pak cannot win direct conflict against India: Advani

Throwing the gauntlet at Pakistan, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial nominee Lal Krishna Advani today said the neighbouring country knew that it could not emerge victorious against India in a direct conflict and that is why it was attempting to spread terrorism.''During the erstwhile National Democratic Alliance's tenure, the Kargil conflict was won for the country's unity, integrity and defending its honour,'' the former deputy premier said in sabre-rattling mode while addressing a poll meeting in this district headquarters. The Leader of the Opposition in the outgoing Lok Sabha pointed out that an initiative was also made in the form of talks with Pakistan's then President Pervez Musharraf by inviting him to Agra for discussion on stoppage of terrorist activities in Kashmir.
